The show was awesome.

One note - me thinks that Mayor Abramson was trying to be witty when he called the band "Our" Morning Jacket.   Get it?

I went with my wife, who had seen them with me before at Atlanta's Roxy on the Z tour.   We got back to Atlanta yesterday and she went online and bought tickets for the ATL show.  I already had tix as she was not interested in seeing them twice...until Saturday that is.   She said the Louisville show as the best concert she had ever seen...and we have seen a lot.

what a great weekend.  i had a great time in Louisville, such ag reat city.  thanks to everybody that gave me recomendations of places to eat and good bars to go to.  i had 2 bomb brunches lynn's paradise (Saturday) and Toast on market (sunday).  bardstown road was very cool.

the show itself was amazing, the band was so fucking tight.  im not the biggest aluminum park fan but holy shit the AP from saturday night rocked so hard.  i was loving every minute of Cobra.  the entire encore was out of control.

the miami and philly shows can not come fast enough!

also:  when they played the songs in the encore tt's bass was crazy-clear in the mix!   :o  at one point i said, "damn." paul asked, "the bass?"  AWE.  SOME.

The bass was ridiculous. I dont know how far from the stage you were, but from the front you could actually feel it vibrating the organs in your body. It gave you a strong urge to close your eyes lest they burst from their sockets. I wouldnt say it was painful, but it was a very strange sensation.

I was with photo pass (thanks LP!) and I got to be in the pit for the first 3 songs... The bass was so strong it was hard to breathe when I was in that six foot space of speakers and front row people. AMAZING!

Yeah, the first time it hit, everyone in the pit turns to one another like "I hope we make it out of here" as it felt like continuous punches to the throat...it was incredible
I think the best word to describe it is "devastating". I said in another post, when we walked out I felt like my brain had been shattered into a thousand pieces that were bouncing around my skull. Im pretty sure the base contributed to, if not wholly caused, that feeling.
Say friend, you got any more of that good sasparilla?

I know someone who worked backstage for the show. He told me afterwords that there was talk of doing this again next summer.

My gf and I had a great time in Louisville, can't wait to go back and spend more time. Unfortunately we got into town later than I wanted due to a late night out in St. Louis on Friday, so by the time we got checked into the Brown (wow) and got some eats it was time to go to the show and I didn't get the chance to meet some of you fine folks at the Browning. We took our chairs so we had to hang back outside the orange box, but we were still close enough to rock out with the great peeps around us. Just a great show even from back a ways - Where to Begin and Cobra were great to hear (I'd love to hear the whole 20 minute version live sometime). They played Cobra at the first show I went to in Dallas in 2004 and I had no idea what I was being treated to! Dondante was totally incredible - seemed like the ghosts were out in full force for that one.
I wish we had thought a little better about after the show because we thought we would be able to eat late at Makers on 4th St. on the way back to the hotel but no go - and we walked right past Bearno's on the way!  :P Thanks Louisville and MMJ for a great weekend, and now I'm getting geeked for Red Rocks!

BEST DONDANTE EVER... BRAIN ALTERING SOLO, I felt like I liquified and my body became one with the water table. Brian's tape translates this feeling to me once again.

I couldn't believe how amazing that was. I remember looking at Brad afterwards and all I could say was "Damn!"

There was a kid next to me and GivenToFly who was at his first Jacket show. During Dondante he just put his head in his hands and had this amazing blank stare lol. He was catatonic.

That's exactly how I felt. All I could do was wrap my arms around my waist, close my eyes, and lose myself. WOW.
