QuoteHey yall...so i'm in a bit of a pickle...i've been planning to go to this show with my girlfriend since it was announced, but she's not a very nice person and we're breaking up. i still really want to go but can't find anyone to go with on such short notice so i'm wondering if theres anyone in the boston area who would care to join me. pit tickets. room at the sheraton.

Ditto what the others said.   Take the plunge and cmon down.   It'd be good to meet others from boston.  Undoubtedly the Sheraton will be rockin.

MMJ-Soul

QuoteSo this has been bothering for a week or so now, and now that the Birmingham show is done, its bothering me even more.  As of right now, for the Merriweather show, gates open at 6:30, the show starts at 8.  Assuming PHJB goes on right at 8, and plays for lets say, 30 or 45 minutes.  This would mean MMJ might go on at lets say 9:15.  Merriweather, from what I understand, has an 11 O'Clock Noise curfew.  So does this mean those of us at Merriweather will be getting a shorter MMJ set?  It seems they played a solid 2 and a half hours in Bama tonight, and I'm going to be really bummed if the only show I catch on this tour gets a shortened setlist.  :'(

Thoughts, Opinions, something to make me feel better? haha.  And yes, even if its only 90 minutes I know I should be happy, but considering how long the boys like to play, I will be a bit let down.
Hello all, I'm brand spanking new to the board. I live in the Baltimore area and wanted give my insight on this. The noise curfew in the past has meant that at 11:00 the portion of the PA that's providing sound to the lawn get's suddenly turned down which is kind of shocking ...it almost seems like there is a power outage to those sitting on the lawn... I was out there once and this happend and I said never again ! Pavillion only for this venue for me from that point on..People under the pavillion dont notice a thing just those poor souls on the lawn...Anyway hopefully it will be a full length show !  See you all in the pit !

Are you normal?  Well attired? Because I'm coming to the show with four single ladies.  Sorry to hear about your unkind ex.

so, uh, since the show is less than a week away how exactly are we going about doing this shindig in the lot?

Good question?  I was wondering what time the lot opens?  I am read to start the party a.s.a.p.  So if I can get in there at noon, that is where I will be.  And if the lot doesn't open until later, where is the pre-game going to be?

P.S. Only 6 days left  :D

hah, which lot are we shindiggin' in? Sheraton or MPP?
I NEEDED IT MOST WHENEVER tbh

Quotehah, which lot are we shindiggin' in? Sheraton or MPP?

Im guessing the Sheraton wouldnt let 20+ people be loud and getting drunk in their lot  ;D

My buddy has the tix, so Im not sure when the lot opens. Someone who has their tix should check, otherwise we could call. Id assume, especially since its a saturday, it would open at 2PM.

Did we figure out if its cool to drink reebs in the MPP lot as long as we have solo cups or something? I think so, but im not sure

Oooh.  I told myself to stay away from MPP posts.  Now I want to go.  Who cares if the setlist is virtually the same?  I'm afraid to even pretend to be kidding and ask the wife.  I don't have a ticket or a place to stay.  Mapquest says its almost 8.5 hours drive, though I should be able to shave 30-45 mins. off.  Fuck, MMJ- you're like a drug.
The fact that my heart's beating is all the proof you need.

I emailed the info people at MPP, as it didn't say anything on my ticket other than gates open at 6:30.  I asked what time the lot opens and what the "tailgating policies" are.  Will post if I get a response.

makes sense!

Tix say doors at 6:30, and that's it.

I would say that there is a 0% of the show going past 11 as Chastain had the same curfew and they cut out a song according to the setlist provided because they were running behind.  Will be heading out to the Sheraton around 3ish as I have to work til 6:00 am on Sat unfortunately and need a few hours of sleep.

When you make a post like that, clearly you WANT to go and you just need a little shoving.

1.  It can't hurt to ask the wife
2.  I have extra tix (seriously)
3.  You can crash in my hotel room (seriously)

If you didn't want tempting, you wouldn't be poking around in this thread.

I am in the same boat.  Plane lands at 1:30 - pick up bear costume at luggage claim, rental car, 20 min ride, stop at liquor store.... I will be ready to go by 3.   If the pre-game hasn't started by then, pre-pre-game will be at the Sheraton.

Seriously, JohnnYYac, did you see this post?

That's crazy MMJ Destiny shit happening there.    One stop shopping concert there - the dude (or lesbian) will share ride, tix, hotel !!!

WTF is holding you back now?   Wife & kids?  that's the best excuse you got?

You're spot on, mahg33tah!  I have asked the wife, I have seen the posts regarding extra tickets, places to stay...  That's why I feel tempted to go.  But the wife says No and I respect that.  I appreciate the offers, but I won't be going.  Also, as awesome as the last week was, looking at the way the setlist was so similar, I'm less inclined to risk my marriage to see the same list of 25 songs I saw last week.  Just being honest... Honest Man.

Have a good time.  No matter what you get, it will be AWESOME!!!

I have no doubt.   I'm about to make one more semi-whiny thred about Merriweather start time, then let it drop and get over it.   It's all done under the bigger picture of loving the band.   I really can't wait!

are all the shows starting at 9pm?

that just seems late for a start time when doors are at 6:30.

at my home venue, the ampitheater in camden, typically doors are around that time, opener on between 7:00 and 7:15 and done by 7:45  or 8, main act on between 8:15 and 8:30.  thats not really unreasonable, and an 11pm curfew is pretty standard.

i know a mod said the 9pm start, but has this been confirmed with someone from mpp?  i am just surprised by the late start, its not really necessary.

That's what's so frustrating.

Come chime in on my new thread (up momentarily) - maybe we can create a groundswell of support!

ps. not only was it confirmed by mod but that's what just happened Friday in Atlanta, venue w/ the same curfew issue.   I was watching to see what happened there but when I saw the setlist and heard the reports, I gave up hope.

do all the shows have doors at 6:30?  I thought some of the theaters had doors later (or maybe doors were the same and they just came on at 8pm and 9pm respectively).
