QuoteGreat post Penny!!!  :)

Sparkle & I just wanted to say thank you personally to all the amazing people we met last week.

I've been a fan for a few years now (since 2002 when AT & TF got their first official UK releases) & started lurking on the forum not too long after ISM came out, finally finding the courage to start posting on the eve of Z's release.

I've made some good friends here over the years & seeing the jacket in the US & meeting you all in person has been a dream of mine for a long time now. Needless to say say T5 was an incredible experience & finally getting to meet you all in person was very much a part of that.

Sunday came around way too fast & when it dawned (ouch!) on me that we were flying home that day, not going to McGee's to see you all & then on to a show I felt really, really sad.

So cheers again everyone for making our trip so amazing, especially Rukus for getting us the tickets (sorry we messed you about so much) Penny for organising things, our balcony buddies Wiz & AJ - two of the nicest people we've ever met! My man in Japan Darkglow & Capt 'my Traps hurt!' Heady, BH (the best stubbly kiss I've ever given!) Kevin & Stephanie, Sweatboard & his wife, Ghosts 'dodged a bullet' On TV, Todd & Christie (we didn't get to say goodbye, I don't know your user name - please PM me) Kentucky & Daniel (same, please PM me) ALady (as nice in person as she is on the forum!) Yvon (your stickers are priceless!) Soulshine, Ravi The Chief, KY, Sticky, Jeff, Eric, Ralph, Monkeyboy, Twofingers, Walterf, Danz (didn't get to say hi but you are fake Bob Dylan!) NovaLova (how tall?!) The Bear from Germany, Haldon, Joe the Fireman...

Sorry if I missed anyone/didn't get get chance to say Hi. We fucking love you guys & miss you all  :'( :'( :'(

Pleasure meeting you too. Thanks for letting my short friend  ;D Tommy "squeeze" next to you on the rail Thursday night, joining Wiz, AJ & Jane. I had such a wonderful evening & a great view! Glad we were able to meet up again Saturday night also. Joe the fireman :).
My Perfect Day = Snowboarding on a powder day in the trees & listening to my favorite music.

I'm way late to the party here but I'd like to say thanks to everyone that was in NYC for these shows. MMJ are only part of the reason the week was so special. All of you guys really left an impression on me that will last forever. The MMJ Forum Members (maybe "MMJ Forum Family" is more appropriate) and the MMJ fan base in general is comprised of many truly remarkable human beings. Thanks for the week of a lifetime.

And thank you all for the birthday wishes. It was awesome and easily the best birthday I've ever had.

Back at home base with my bag that arrived yesterday! Pretty much everything i wanted to express has already been said, but just wanted to leave a quick shout out.

To everyone I spoke shit with, hung out with, laughed with, ate pretzels with, got teary with and rocked my fucking panties off with during the week I want to thank you all so much for making me feel so welcome. It is you guys that have made the lasting impression on me when I think about the week that was T5.  You turned what was always going to be a big week into a life affirming week and its something I will never forget. I feel blessed to have been a part of it.

Just also want to quickly mention 'The 10th Ave 10'.  You guys are UN-FUCKING-BELIEVABLE!  I'm not sure how you did what you did in the space you did it in, but dudes, that was fucking impressive!

Thank You, Thank You, Thank You!!!

Oh, and thanks MMJ, you were alright!  8-)

Cheers - Dave

Small space, lots of people, yet we managed to get along and make the most of it. :)

Dave, you're my favorite Aussie! Talking/hanging out with you was a treat. I hope the lady loved all of the shopping you did for her. Hope California was a blast. Are you on the facebook? PM me. Keep in touch, you're a delight and I hope to run into you at another show -- either this half of the equator or the other.  ;)

Dive! Yet another of the tremendous peeps that made last week so great. Munching pretzels while taking in you and Jason going on about Neil Young completism...mind-boggling!

Cheers mate, and hope to see you again soon!

Can I just say what a cherry-on-top kind of treat it was to meet up with ralph (and Bill) at Bridge School on Sunday?  It felt like seeing old friends   :)

Couple of good eggs there.

ALady and I miss that sweater of yours.  ;)

Another random Ky story from the week. According to darkglow, I have "old lady milling around syndrome" because I woke up early before everyone else and would walk around the apartment in the dark. Whatever. I had things scattered everywhere...I am not an old lady!  :P
;D  just remind him that b/c of his just moving stateside he was the first one up most mornings.  and he was cue-ing up the best of "drunk history" for us all!

I'm just going to describe some of my highlights of the trip.. it was too overwhelming to get it all!!

It was a god damned pleasure to share the week with you all!

It's funny because my flight back was at terminal 5 of JFK too!

I got punched in the nose after By my Car but it was so insane that I
forgot all about the pain by the end of the show!

Seeing Johnny Quaid come out for Twilight and just how devastatingly
awesome it was. Then later, War Begun's epicness.  I will Be there when you die, simply beautiful as was I think i'm going to Hell.
The encore was nuts, all of it.. so many surprises like Tyrone and Hot
Legs!!

It was awesome during the 2nd show celebrating and going nuts with B.H. like we were good friends but we had only met for the first time that day!  Just because I do was brilliant as was Smashes down with Jim on Banjo!
Strangulation!  nuts!  Celebratory encore with O, we went nuts for it!  Miss you>Cobra>Black Sabbath was one of the best musical parts of the week!

Hard to say which night was my favorite but It Still Moves took the cake, too many epic moments.  I was shocked to hear Tonight I'll be Staying Here with You, How Could I know and Sooner but It Makes No Difference nearly killed me, it was so amazing with the horns!!!  It is the song i wanted to hear the most and it was completely brilliant! There are no words...
I loved when Jim talked about the horn section like they were machines.

I still remember Carl's sick guitar tones during Hit it and Quit it, he is
at another level! Chills played with Jim's 12 string and Carl's awesome slide guitar!!  don dante, with the MEGAJAM! WOW!  Where to Begin was sublime, so sweet!  Drumming was insane this night especially during a Quick One! Seeing Pat holding two bananas like guns before the others brought them out, and I was wondering what the hell was going on!!

Remnants was a head banger, so nice to hear that one finally!
Jim's solo on Oh Sweet Nothin' was Killer! one of his best!
It was so cool to hear some of the new songs on the last night.
Jim's leg kicks after floor diving at the end of One Big Holiday really
summed it up!

Meeting Jim randomly on the street with Johnny and Tommy was quite a highlight.. totally random as we were going to get Pizza before the show at Angelo's.

Closing down McGee's with Scotty, Lori and Tim and listening to incredible stories from the German.  All I gotta say is that there must be something in the water over there!!

Meeting most of the band at Joe's Pub was another amazing highlight.. we packed the place and the show was wonderful.  Seeing the tailgate party outside was trippy!

Can't wait to do it again!!!  AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!

NoVa_NoLa

Just in from VooDoo...my T5 was a T2 and I was and am still really grateful that I was able to attend at all.  Capping things off here -- a five minute bike ride from my apartment -- I'm smiling so big still that my face really is starting to hurt.  I took some photos and a video (which used up that last of my memory) and I really couldn't be any happier to wind up my mini-Jacket adventure tonight.

Highlights:

All the very wonderful forum folks whose names I will probably never get right.

Penny of course =)  What a wonderful ringleader.  See ya back here for Jazz Fest!

ALady and Kenny76, my NYE buddies!  Great to see y'all again!

Danz...really enjoyed talking beer with ya after night 4!  Hope our paths cross again soon!

Scotty!  My Steelers brother... Great to meet you and yes, that EU record stunk!  ;)

And everyone else...there wasn't a single soul that I spoke with who wasn't absolutely genuine, including:

The German -- I did not get your name but I'm glad that I did not come home with your poster. :)

And the very lovely couple from England (I think) they're next to me in the forum photo.  Wish that I had met you both sooner!!  Next time!

VooDoo Fest just wrapped and I literally put my bike away 3 minutes ago.  If I did not have some stuff to do at work tomorrow, I'd still be out there...Man, sometimes things are so good that there just isn't anything better.

This feeling...it is wonderful.

it needs to be said more than once, possibly on repeat
