QuoteI think Tracy likes to argue just so he can post pics of shirtless men.

Now thats a thought, but he pretty much just jumped around all my facts as to why Ben is a better QB

boogerkins, listen, I am jumping on you b/c of your hate
for Eli Manning. I like rothiesberger and he's a great QB.
I just think it's funny that you hate Eli Manning and you will
always hate him, even if he fucking cures cancer, you will
hate Eli Manning.

that's all, no more, no less. Just giving you a little bit of a
hard time. You can handle this, right? If not, PM me and I
will lay off. OK? OK!  :)

And yes, I love shirtless men!

There's an art to hating Eli Manning. Not just him but the whole crew of them. Tracy, you know if Cooper had played ball for longer, State fans would have learned to hate him too.  ;)

Cooper  ;D ;D ;D

He must of been adopted. Either that, or Mrs Manning Sr wasnt on top

here's a great story on Cooper Manning and how he was almost paralyzed for life. Some say he was the best athelete of the 3.

I think/know Roethlisberger is a better QB, thats all. Nothing against Eli, he just isnt as good as Ben, and thats the reason I started the argument/point/proof in the first place  8-)

Today on ESPN, Steve Young (when asked who was the top QB in the NFL) said it was Eli Manning or Drew Brees. He also went on to say there was no break-away "super" QB this season.

You've heard of Steve Young, right? He knows a little bit about being a QB in the NFL.

It is a simple question of who is playing well right now....Brees is having a great year....so is Eli 6-1.
Last Fair Deal Gone Down...

corey

Brees is having a great year on paper, but the Saints could be playing better.
I haven't looked at Eli's numbers, but the Giants have a good record.

So which is better? The guy with better numbers or the guy leading his team to wins?

;D ;D ;D

Steve Young could play football, but hes as bad of an analyst as Emmitt Smith. I almost guarantee you the whole reason Eli is mentioned in that breath is their record, and especially their huge win 2 days ago being in the forefront of his mind. Id put money that he doesnt know how his stats compare to most other top QBs this year.

My Top 10 Current QBs would be (not just 2008, currently playing):
1 - Peyton Manning
2 - Ben Roethlisberger
3 - Tom Brady
4 - Drew Brees
5 - Donovan McNabb
6 - Tony Romo
7 - Carson Palmer
8 - Jay Cutler
9 - Philip Rivers
10 - Eli Manning

I think thats a pretty accurate order when basing these QBs purely on skills and when accounting for career numbers/accomplishments, team situation, and how long/often theyve put up Top 10 numbers.

Jason Campbell and Aaron Rodgers are on a fast track to making this list, but dont have enough of a track record yet to be on it.

Brett Favre is about the only QB whose past numbers didnt put him on this list, because he simply isnt a Top 10 QB anymore

Kurt Warner is hard to rank. Had he played more from 2002-2006, hed probably be on this list

Carson Palmer has a QB rating of 69 and his team is 0-7, but he's a better QB than Manning. And Kurt Warner is at 101, avg. 300 yards a game and not in the top 10.

And Rothliesberger is better than Brady?

OK, have a good one.   later

capt. scotty

If you actually read my reasoning, Im not just counting 2008. In fact, Im counting 2008 less than anything. If were just going by 2008, you could say Chad Pennington is the best QB in the NFL, yeak, ok

Not sure Im following your logic either. Carson Palmer isnt on your list because of 2008, but Tom Brady's 2 quarters of play do put him on the list?!!?

I said my case for Warner. I own him on almost all of my fantasy teams so I know the season he's having, he just didnt do enough from 2002-2006 when he was a backup to keep him amongst the Top 10

Manning tipped Steelers to key goal-line play
By ALAN ROBINSON, AP Sports Writer
Oct 27, 4:38 pm EDT

PITTSBURGH (AP)—The Steelers knew what the Giants would do before 264-pound running back Brandon Jacobs was stopped on a key goal-line play early in New York's 21-14 win in Pittsburgh on Sunday.

The tipster? Giants quarterback Eli Manning.

Defensive end Brett Keisel overheard Manning mouthing the play call and lined up the defense before Jacobs was stopped inches short of the goal line on the fourth-and-1 play early in the second quarter.

The goal-line stand—Jacobs failed on three successive plays to get in from the 1—temporarily preserved Pittsburgh's 7-3 lead.

"I was watching Eli's lips the whole time and I saw him say, `32,' so I went over and tried to tell everyone, `It's right here,' and we stopped it," Keisel said. "That was a big play in the game."

Asked if he heard Manning yell out the play call, Keisel said, "Yeah."

By hearing "32," Keisel deduced the Giants would run the ball behind right guard Chris Snee.

"I'm guessing it's the 2-drop, which is right off center-guard," Keisel said. "And that's the play they ran and we stopped them. I'm proud of our defense. Our defense played their tails off."

Giants coach Tom Coughlin challenged the spot, and TV replays appeared to show Jacobs getting the ball across the goal line before he was stopped. The ruling on the field was upheld after review.

"I was in," Jacobs said. "I guess they didn't get the right (TV) angle (on the replay). We were playing against 11 people and—what—16 people to be honest with you," a reference to the officiating crew.

The play before, referee Bill Carollo's crew initially ruled Jacobs got in from the 1, but the Steelers challenged and the call was overturned, with the ball spotted inside the 1.

The officiating crew was down one man because head linesman John Schleyer was ill.

The Steelers' defense didn't allow a touchdown until a safety, and the favorable field position created by the ensuing free kick, allowed the Giants to start a game-winning drive at their own 47 late in the fourth quarter. The seven-play drive ended with Manning's 2-yard TD pass to tight end Kevin Boss on second-and-goal with 3:07 remaining.

The Steelers limited New York's NFL-leading rushing offense to 83 yards on 35 carries, a 2.4-yards-per-carry average, but did not sack Manning. Pittsburgh came into the game with a league-high 25 sacks.

"They're maybe the best defense in football right now," Giants wide receiver Plaxico Burress said.

I dont know whats more surprising: The great Eli Manning tipping the defense, or Plex saying Pittsburgh has the best D in the NFL  ;D

This is the dumbest story I've heard all week....oh my god the Giants have the ball on the goaline and they are going to give to Jacobs to run up the middle??? shocking.   I think if Pittsburg asked Jacobs or Eli what the play was they would've told them....and would Pitts D changed in anyway? no...you push the D to the middle on the goaline.

capt. scotty

Romo has been 1 of the top QBs the past 2+ years (and just look at how Dallas' passing game has looked the last couple weeks w/o him). Nice Giants fan bias right there, man.

Palmer has been 1 of the top QBs since about 2004

Brady has benefitted from his offensive line for his whole career, and Roethlisbergers ability to get out of the pocket puts him over Brady

And Im not sure how Favre is > or = to everyone on my list. Yeah, hes near the top in TD's this year, but hes also leading the NFL in INT's. Outside of 2007, Favre's play for the last 5 years hasnt been close to Top 10 stuff

Honestly you lost all credibilty...I'm the biggest Pats hater there is...let me say it again 18-1....but only a complete idiot would say Ben is better than Brady unless you have been sleeping for the last 7 years or so.

Eli is having a great year....he is doing exactly what he needs to do for him team to win.  He doesn't need to throw 4 TD's a game like Brees.

Seriously have you seen Brady play?  Your statement about Ben getting out of the pocket is hilarious.  He gets sacked more than anyone and if you turned on ESPN or any other sports station this week you would hear the same thing...all they have been talking about is how Ben holds on to the ball too long.

and to leave Farve off that list....haha.

Carson would be much higher on everyone's list if he had Eli's O-line, here's my list:

1) Peyton Manning
2) Tom Brady
3) Ben Rothlisberger
4) Carson Palmer
5) Drew Brees
6) Phillip Rivers
7) Eli Manning
8) Aaron Rodgers
9) Donovan McNabb
10) Tony Romo

I guess Im a complete idiot for thinking Roeth is a slightly better QB than Brady. When you have a brick wall for a offensive line and video cameras, most of the QBs in the Top 10 can look about that good

I guess your blinders on Roeth are more than I thought too bc Roethlisberger doesnt need to throw 4 TDs a game either for his team to win. Just to remind you, you played us with our 3rd string RB too

Roethlisberger is the best QB in the NFL at making plays when nothing is there. The pathetic OLine we have is why he gets sacked like ham sandwiches for a 2nd grader, but you know less about football than my mom if you blame Ben for getting sacked with 2 seconds to make a play. While he should throw the ball away more often, as a NYG fan you really dont understand how important an offensive line is apparently

And I think its laughable 2 people now have said Favre is a Top 10 QB in 2008. Hes got 2 pro bowl caliber WRs and hes still not Top 10
