Hey all,
I know there are some Torpedo lovers here.  Just had my first one last night.  Pretty good!  I had never seen it before, but I didn't know it was a Sierra Nevada beer, so I probably looked right over it somehow.

Cheers!
We could.

Never heard of it, but this new alehouse opened around here and I decided to try a Stone's Sublimely Self-Righteous Ale. It was awesome. Looks more like a stout in color and thick, dark head and piney hops that complement but dont dominate the other flavors in a beer lighter than its appearance. 1 of the best beers Ive had in awhile. Its got an A- on beeradvocate and a 100 on ratebeer. Well deserved!

I went to my first homebrew club meeting last night.  Duder from my local homebrew store was there with an IPA hopped totally with Citra which is the hop that is owned by Sierra Nevada and used in Ranger.  It was very interesting.  You could tell Citra is a better hop for flavoring and aroma than for bittering which is probably why sierra nevada only uses it as a dry hop addition.

I wasn't sold on Stone's Sublimely Self-Righteous, but I'm not a huge fan of Stone's brews in general. I like arrogant bastard pretty well but the rest that I've had have fallen short for one reason or another.  Usually their carbonation rates are way too high and their hops combinations are unbalanced, imo.

Nice score, but you should have come away with more beer than that if you had to go to American Girl.  I have nightmares about that place.

So ture!  So very very true!  ;D  But with 3 young girls, well, I'm afraid it's unavoidable.  :D

It is SOOO special to me! Put it away for awhile in favor of Ranger but got some out this last week...so many notes...such a great aroma and appearance. Well, and the effect that 3-4 has on me is just about unmatched. Usually get some dancin' feet...  :) [smiley=beer.gif]...then some craziness ensues. Let's just put it this way, some of my relatives call it my "LSD Beer"... ;)

Ive never actually bought any Shock Top, but I think its better than Blue Moon and any other major company white belgian brews

headdy,

I too just got off work.  The kids are at grandma's and I am enjoying some Bells Oberon before hitting a local watering hole that has some Great Lakes Holy Moses on tap that I will be partaking in! Life is good!   8-)

capt. scotty

IIRC, the Oberon is maybe the only Bell's that Ive had that I didnt like all that much.

I think Ive only had Eliot Ness and Nosferatu from Great Lakes, but liked both of those. Do tell about the Holy Moses.

OMG, Nosferatu is one of my favorite beers evahhhh.

People go ape over Oberon up here but I've never been much of a fan.

Just got back from an impromptu trip to Wisconsin with a sixer of New Glarus Dancing Man wheat and some Hinterland Maple Bock.

Mmm, Wisconsin.   :)

Holy Moses is a Belgian Wit Ale with hints of orange peel, chamomile and coriander.  It's GL's summer saison beer and it's really good...  IMHO of course.  ;)

I really haven't had a beer from Great Lakes that I didn't like.  Of course, the Christmas Ale might be my all-time favorite, but their Lake Erie Monster is an IPA avaliable only from May-July 4th that is a pretty strong contender for my favorite GL brew.  And Nosferatu is pretty damn good as well!

Really, I can say the same thing about Bells as well.  They make some damn fine beer!

Tonight I'm chillin' with some Fat Tire and some Ranger tonight as I grill up some filets and jam out to some Furthur!  8-)

Sweet pic!

Wish I could get the Christmas Ale more often. My buddy goes home to Cleveland for Christmas, and he hooks me up with a sixer of it. Love it!

2 cases of O'Fallon's 5 day IPA today. Clean, crisp more than most, and very fresh with a great golden presentation. I love this brew. Kinda' missed the individual full box for each six like they used to do though. Going to sink my teeth into a few this evening...

Unless Coors makes something besides that piss in a can that turns blue, and something better than Blue Moon, I cant get on board with this.

Got a case of Corona Light the other day. Got it because I rarely do get it, and its been awhile, and felt like it was time for another. I should probably get it more often, because I do really like it. Reminds me of my summer in Myrtle Beach as well since I drank a 12er of Corona Light on the beach probably 5 days a week.

Actually the only beer that I prefer the light version to the regular. I think the lime offsets the flavor better.

Not a fan of Shock Top, it's alright, but I'd take a Blue Moon over it. My personal favorite is Leinenkugel's Sunset Wheat.

I'll take a Silver or Golden Bullet over a Bud or Bud Light any day. Yeah, even over a Bud Dry. Nobody is saying that they'd take a major over a micro, but if I had to choose. It would be Coors, Bud, than Miller. I know Miller owns Coors...
