Good call Walts.  Sunset Wheat is tasty!

If you ever get a chance, and most of you won't, the New Glarus Golden Ale is magnificent.  You can only buy it at the brewery, but if you get the chance, definitely pick some up.  It's expensive, about $8 a pint, but totally worth it.  It's the most complexly flavored beer I've ever had.

Just checked their website and it's nowhere to be found...not sure if you can still get it
We could.

I enjoy most wheat brews, but I prefer them outta the tap for some reason. Drinking outta a bottle doesn't taste as good. I guess with some beers I prefer outta a can than bottle and some outta a bottle than can. Weird?

I think next time I see my family in Milwaukee my brother and I are going to do some more brewery tours. Of course I've been to Miller a bunch of times, which is always fun, but we're going to make a point to hit up the smaller ones in the area. I know Ruckus would rather I mapquest, but how far do you think the New Glarus brewery is from Milwaukee? I don't think there's a beer they brew I don't like.

I know some on here have said that they aren't fans of Oberon, but it is my favorite wheat beer.  I too prefer it on tap, but most of the time when I'm drinking it out of the bottle, I just pour it in my pint glasses.  If I don't have a glass I always just tip the bottle a bit.  That way all of the sediment gets stirred up making the beer even tastier!

I love Yuengling.  Can only get it on most of the East Coast.  Made in Pottstown, outside Philly.  America's Oldest Brewery, it lives up to a name like that.  It would be a damn shame if, for example, PBR was America's Oldest Brewery.

New Glarus is maybe 20 miles south of Madison...I'd say 2 hours tops from Milwaukee?  It's a really nice brewery.  Not big at all and the tour is somewhat short due to the (relatively) small size, but if they even have one beer you can only get at the gift shop, it's worth it.  That Golden Ale was AMAZING.  And if you go in the warmer months they have some outdoor drinking areas.  Actually, I'd recommend going during October during their Octoberfest if you've got no other plans for that.  It's not actually at the brewery itself, but the town has a pretty decent little festival.  Lots of good food and beers (obviously) and last year they had a really, really good band.  We just happened to stumble upon it on our way home from LaCrosse.  We were way hungover and didn't even want to drink, but the small-town good-time vibes, along with the good food and drink and music made that hangover disappear pretty quickly!

North Coast Brewing's Brother Thelonious...belgian dubbel abbey, good but Ive had better. for a dubbel abbey which isnt typically my favorite type of belgian, liked it a lot

Weyebacher Merry Monks....described as a belgian styled golden ale. Definitely has the flavor of a belgian but something different going on as well. Very good, and likde it more than the Thelonious.

At Odells Brewery

It's hard to enjoy a 6 3oz samples. That's why I had to get two of them thangs. I'm slowly posting pictures from the CO trip. Pretty soon, I'll post the picture with me and Jim. He was very cool!

Will drink their IPA next in your honor M as I just discovered I had one. (so cool to see that pic of you and TGMC by the way). Currently working on a Big Sky Brewing Co. IPA out of Missoula, MT. Man this is a big beer! They should have put an extra I in front of that other. Big ass hops aroma, bold finish, a real winner (not for a beginner).

I bet the Big Sky Brewery would be sweet!! I really enjoy their beers. I would think their tour would be a lot of fun to go on.

TGMC posted a picture? I assume it was on facebook? Since I don't do facebook I wouldn't know. I was going to post a picture of us later, and continue to hype my picture with Jim. He did show the picture with me and Jim did he?

Good, good! Jim got really into the picture. I'm going to post a couple soon of me and TGMC inside the battle grounds. Battle grounds = Dave Matthew fans.

I really wanna try Dylan's brews. They always sound so damn tasty. And his food that he makes.

Much lighter in color and aroma. Not so "big". Lots of Citrus like I enjoy. I am getting about 3 notes out of it. Polished and finished...I hope the next 4 out of my sampler pack from MO are as enjoyable as the first 2...

They actually dont do brewery tours there. You do get to have 6 free samples 3-4oz samples of your choice though.

The other big brewery out in MT is Bayern. I highly recommend trying their Dancing Trout Ale...Probably my favorite of any of the Big Sky or Bayern brews.

Really? TEO change of plans? Sample are free, but that's pretty far to go for a handful of samples.

I need to read more carefully. I thought you were working on going to Big Sky Brewery, but you were working on a beer. Haha, maybe I should crack one. I'm going with a Nordeast.

Knew there was something very different from the beginning. The dreaded, USED to enjoy, WHEAT! Bahhh...what a ruination. Cool retro label with a 50's travel trailer, but I am afraid that is the best thing about it...
