Movies theaters around here suck. Loews at the Waterfront is the closest one to me that has it.
That's motherfuckin' John Oates!

I just watched Hancock the other night.  Some people may disagree, but i thought it was pretty good.  I can't wait to see Religulous when it comes out in Feb.  Has anyone seen where in the World is Osama bin Laden?  Trying to figure out if it will be good to watch.

We've got a sitter for our boys and me and the wife are going to see this tonight.  I've heard from multiple people how good it is and we are both pretty excited!

I haven't been able to bring myself to go because when I watched the trailer I couldn't get past how terrible Frank Langella's Nixon voice was. It looks like a great performance in all other respects, but that voice . . .  :-?

That's so funny...I have a friend who refuses to see it because she thinks Langella is feigning a British accent while attempting to sound like Nixon.
God sure baked a lot of fruitcake, baby.

Days of Heaven

With Richard Gere and Brooke Adams?

Stunning movie.

Saw it a long time ago but still remember the landscapes and cinematography.

I saw the excellent Swedish vampire film, Let the Right One In. It came out last year and made a number of Best Of lists, including Rolling Stone's Peter Travers'. It's on mine too.

The film takes place in the frigid winter in a small city in Sweden during the early 80's. A loner/shy 12-year old boy finds a strange friend in a new neighbour girl (or is it a girl?). I won't tell you anything else. I'd say the feel and tone of the film is similar to Guillermo del Toro's masteful Spanish ghost story, The Devil's Backbone. It's not the same movie, obviously, but both are horror films with a heart.

You know, I liked that one, but didn't like it as much as I thought I would.  I thought it hit some schlocky notes, and came off a bit like an adolescent revenge fantasy in the end.
if it falls apart or makes us millionaires

But it wasn't the revenge that I had in mind. I like the bleakness and isolation of the film. And the acting was excellent and the relationships made sense and were natural.
