not trying to put a damper on anything, because this is a pretty amazing thing they're doing, but the terminal 5 is absolutely the worst venue i've ever been to. the sound is god fucking awful. i walked from the floor to the back bar for a beer and the sound literally disappears. so take that into consideration, although i'm strongly thinking about going.

hopefully the people who attend these concerts realize the TFF/At Dawn nights will be chill as hell.  it will be good practice for the n00bs to learn when to shut the fuck up.

I'm almost  more excited they're playing the album and "songs from the era they were made" or whatever.  who knows what kind of bust outs we're going to get over these five days?  I wonder if they're going for their entire catalog... one can only hope.

Totally agree.

Simple solution is don't leave the floor and go to the back bar!

I have been to Terminal 5 for a concert and I have to disagree. A real nice place, 3 floors all overlooking the stage. Tons of bars throughout the venue, rooftop to smoke. I was pleasantly surprised when I went and can't wait to go back again.
The fact that my hearts beating, is all the proof you need.

i have to agree there, but despite the venue i still remain beyond excited !! the sound is indeed sucky though.

YouAre_GivenToFly

i went to a show there last month and i didnt think the sound was bad at all. i was on the 1st balcony behind the sound/lights guys.
The wind blew me back, via Chicago, in the middle of the night.

LOL .... He's right

Terminal 5 is the worse venue in the City

I've been to a handful of shows at Terminal 5 and have no complaints. Maybe in certain parts of the venue it sounds crappier but everywhere i've stood in front of the stage has had good audio. My hearing isn't super-sensitive and I don't know much about audio setups....but I have no complaints.

I've seen Levon and Dr. Dog here, never had a problem with the sound.  Don't be fooled by the three floors though, if your not actually on the rail on the second or third floor, you can't see shit.

True. Also, one side on the second level is usually reserved for VIPs....so many people think it's empty and run up to grab that spot but then aren't allowed in.

I have been to T5 maybe 10 times and I don't think it is as bad as most people say it is. My Major problem with it is that over sell the place and it get's way too crowded.

Yea, if you want a good spot it's best to get there before the doors open and hang out in line. Getting there too late would may leave you too far off to the side of the stage.

I'd love to here some more input on the venue from folks who have gone before....especially to sold out shows there.  Certainly not trying to bring negativity into the shows, I'm fired up and cannot wait!  But after reading through several pages of reviews on yelp, gotta say I'm a bit nervous.  It's gonna be off the hook no matter what.  They could do this in empty warehouse and I'd be there.

Any locals have any insight on the best way to rock the venue?

scosby2

they could play this run on mute and i would be pumped...who cares about the venue. it's gonna be great, don't worry

capt. scotty

anybody actually figure out the capacity for T5?

I have heard it is about 3000.

that's what I'm seeing.

and I'm not "worried" at all, I'm ready to rage the place.  Just wanted some insider info, seems the place has some good spots and some crappy spots.

FiddleCastro

I haven't actually ever been to T5! Almost saw the National there a few weeks back... I may be going to see of Montreal there on the 18th, and report back.
I NEEDED IT MOST WHENEVER tbh
