This is what I'll be looking for in case someone wants to buy it all, wrap it up and ship it to me.   ;)     Seriously though, if someone sees the M. Ward 7" send me a PM.   If that's all I get, I'll be happy.

Ryan Adams Heartbreak/Black Rain 7"
Flaming Lips - Heady Fwends
New Multitudes 10"   (Is this something different?)
M. Ward - Primitive Girl 7"
White Stripes - Hand Springs 7"
Chris Robinson Band - New Suede Shoes 7"

Does anyone know how limited that Flaming Lips thing is?  Is it the thing that comes with the tote bag?

Asking for a friend.

If anyone happens to see the Phish 'Junta' release I would love some help tracking it down, I know my local store will not have it, I think it might be fairly hard to come by and I'd love some help.

10,000 which seems like more than most of the other stuff but still pretty limited considering fans of all the contributers will also probably be interested.

fredo, I will keep an eye out for Junta for you as well.

a limited number of the copies will have a new Junta related Pollock print, and I believe those copies will cost more. If someone is able to grab me one I can send payment via paypal immediately.  Thanks!

Junta will be the only thing I'm after. The problem is that I'll be on a cruise (I know, poor me) so I will have no chance of getting a copy the day of. I will obtain it in some fashion, I just hope it's not through an overpriced auction on eBay.

Any help would be greatly appreciated people!

Its kinda of silly that Wilco is doing that box set thing. I've paid my Whole Love dues, as I've already purchased it on LP, got the 10" last record store day, and got the blue 7" "I Might" single. I'd like to have it all in one box, and they even had that box available for seperate purchase in their webstore a few months back, but it has disappeared.

I agree about the wilco thing, but since I only own the I Might 7", I'll buy the box set depending on price.

Seems lots of peeps are gonna be looking for Junta. Im not a Phan so if I see it I'll pick one up for someone here

I really REALLY want the EV 7" and the refused record, but with EarXTacy gone, I don't know how easy it'll be to come across them. So if anyone sees em...

Thanks in advance to anyone that can help! It looks like fredo would have firsts on Junta. I can PayPal immediately as soon as I return if someone lands an extra. Not to be presumptuous or greedy, but I would take more than one if they were available so that I could leave one sealed. So if you see one, buy it!

I will be without internet access from 4/15 to 4/22.

I'm going to visit my Dad on Record Store Day and he's right down the street from a Newbury Comics store in Leominster, MA.  I'm thinking they'll have a good number of these releases, but also a good number of customers.

I can't make any promises, but I'll pick up a few "extras" as time, money, and opportunity allow.  If successful, I'll post my bounty or PM folks who've asked about specific titles.

Perhaps if anyone has a similar opportunity to grab an extra copy or two of some of the obvious titles of interest, we can help each other out.

I'm hoping to find these:

Uncle Tupelo- 7" singles; No Depression; Still Feel Gone; March 16-20, 1992
Gary Clark Jr.- HWUL Raw Cuts Vol. 1
Flaming Lips- Heady Fwends
New Multitudes- 10" demos and unreleased
Grace Potter and TN- Live @ Sun Studios 12"
Phish- Junta
M. Ward- Primitive Girl/Twist/Rollover Beethoven 7"
Jonathan Wilson- Pity Trials and Tomorrow's Child 12"
Portugal. The Man- Got it All 7"
Wilco- The Whole Love Deluxe Box Set
Janis Joplin- Highlights from Pearl 2 x 10"
Of Monsters and Men- Into the Woods EP 10"
Grateful Dead- Dark Star: Europe '72 Paris, France 12"

3000 copies.

Here's a link to a 9-page pdf list of RSD releases (http://download.recordstoreday.com/free/RSD_2012_RELEASES_WEBSITE.pdf), FYI.  Once you click the link at left, hit ESC to get print/save options.

Let's just have a rule that if you see Junta you buy up every copy they have and we'll divvy em up here, ok guys?   :-*

The only thing I really want is the Ryan Adams Bob Mould covers.

BTW the store I got the MMJ pic discs at last year still had them weeks later after RSD, I had to call around one of their other locations for Z. So I have some high hopes that they'll have some good stuff.

$50 is probably the lowest it would go for. Trying to think... I probably paid $25 for the LP, another $15 for the 10", $5 for the 7"... then it comes with a box, a tt mat, and an adapter.

I plan to hit up The Exchange in Monroeville and maybe Attic. I've been to Attic Records a couple times but not on RSD. They're definitely the best record store I've been to, I always have to put a bunch of stuff back on the shelves or I'd spend way too much dollar there. Do you mean they open at midnight tonight? I won't be able to swing that so no advice there. The Exchange has a bunch of locations in and around Pittsburgh, and are a RSD participating store. They have a fairly small vinyl selection but it's pretty quality considering. That's where I got my MMJ pic discs weeks later after RSD as well as the Friends Again 7".

My trip for RSD was well worth the wait. I went to Attic Records at 10pm lastnight and waited for 2 hours for them to open. I was 10th in line and most of the people in front of me were looking for the Phish release. There were people lined up around the block by the time they opened. I got in and found:

Uncle Tupelo - the seven inch singles ltd.#1593 (only 6 copies there)
Bruce Springsteen - Rocky Ground (they had probably 20 copies there)
New Multitudes 10 inch EP (probably 8 copies there)
M. Ward - Primitive Girl (there was only one copy of this and I got it. I really wanted the Eddie Vedder 45 but they didn't have it. Mostly every 45 was in the same bid I was looking at first. Which was nice.)
Leonard Cohen - Live in Frederiction EP (it was $10 and I always liked this stuff but never got any on vinyl)

After that I checked out which took half an hour. There was a ton of people there. Great turn out and I got all that I wanted. Good luck to everyone today!

originally they didn't even put it out! the newbury comics i went to (faneuil hall) did a poor job managing RSD this year. so they were a couple i guess.

ps listening to the new multitudes release. the empty bed blues demo is hauntingly good.

All I got was the James Brown and the MC5 singles. The store I hit didn't have anything else I was looking for (GG Allin and The Bronx split). My friend at Amoeba in LA said they didn't even get the Wilco box there. Funny enough his dad was one of the first in line at the store I went to and he got the only one they had there. Starting to think this is turning into a cash grab unfortunately, with the pressings so low and the demand so high for some of this stuff.

I didn't make it to Attic Records today but found most of what I was looking for at The Exchange. I got there at 12:30 today and was surprised to see the Junta Pollock edition. Right after I snagged it up they called someone back to let them know it was sold and a lady came in looking for it for her daughter. She had been to several record stores looking for it and tried buying it from me. I had to wait til they opened some more boxes up to find Headdy Fwends. The Stripes/Jack White 45's aren't RSD releases. They didn't have the Stipes swirled vinyl I was looking for. I'm going to keep Junta sealed up and will consider selling.

As far as the Jim James collaboration on Heady Fwiends, why would one go to the trouble of using a voice like Jim and have it be undistinguishable on the track? Seems a perfect waste to me.

Our Record Store Day plans got derailed by our dog not doing so well...

By afternoon, a distraction was needed and everything we really wanted was still available:

Gary Clark Jr. - Presents HWUL Raw Cuts Vol. 1
Grateful Dead - Dark Star: Europe '72 Olympia Theatre - Paris, France 5/4/72
New Multitudes
Blizten Trapper - Hey Joe 7"
Shuggie Otis - Inspiration Information 7"
*ordered Flaming Lips Heady Fwends (hopefully it ships)

Go hiking in the catskills they said.

We'll be back in time to hit up some record shops they said.

It's only a 3 mile hike they said.

This doesn't feel like Panther Mountain they said, let's keep hiking to that peak over there!

It's not as far away as it looks they said.

I did not make it to any record shops. :-\

Hey, where did that picture come from?

I saw Karl (the Owner) take that picture although I didn't buy that taking back Sunday album.

That shot is actually from my return trip to the store a few hours later (to pick up the Flaming Lips album that wasn't in yet when the store opened) and I did pick up that Lucero lp that I am holding (saw them with Penny Lane Friday the night before and was still not ready for prime time when this photo was taken).

Earlier in the day when the store first opened it was SOO packed you couldn't take a picture like that.

Made me feel GREAT to see how long the line was.
I Love taht people are buying vinyl and supporting the local stores.

I was about even with the end of the stores (60-70 back) and the line had at least 200 people behind me.  Very well organized.

Looney Tunes (my local store) is an AWESOME place and really gets a great supply of stuff every year for RSD.  I can't imagine that any of the dozens of places in NYC had a better supply of limited edition releases than they did.

at the faneuil hall newbury comics in boston had a long line. ( i was like 75th)  Then i found out a band called fun was playing there . closer to opening an employee told everyone who was just buying records to come with her. I ended up being fourth in a record buying only line. I always go to this newbury comics for this reason. the record store day people usually go to the newbury street one and that one was chaotic. this one was too but only for the first 5-10 minutes.  not to mention the smart people working there opened the doors to both lines at the same time so not much help.

So, I can't play one of the two Heady Fwends discs from FLIPS!  It's outer edge is rubbing against the tone arm support base.  I'm thinking about sanding that one edge, but the idea of sandpaper within 20 feet of a vinyl LP makes my skin crawl.

John-
Sandpaper and lps is like having  Justin Bieber as a warm up for MMJ.
The micro-dust particles would get in the grooves of the lp and you are done for good.

Is one lp so much larger than the other?  My two discs play fine (although i don't know if i love the record yet- some good stuff, some just freakin' weird).

PM me and maybe I can help w some suggestions.

Yeah, the first LP was larger than the second, by just enough that it rubbed against the tone arm support.

Problem resolved, didn't use sandpaper (I was kinda kidding about that), but won't admit how I fixed it.  Its playing okay, no dust, no damage.

Think I'll wait until tomorrow to give it a proper listen, though.  Its a bit too weird for the family.  Not sure how I feel about the album.  I'm not huge into Flaming Lips and this is the first of their stuff I own.

I can't imagine the new LP is the best first listen for the flips. Check out The Soft Bulliten. Way less weird. Way more awesome.

Thanks for the recommendation, Eric, though I've heard much of their back catalogue and some cool documentary on Netflix.  Perhaps I should have said this is the first FLips that I've purchased.

John, I agree with Eric.

This would NOT be a good intro tomthe Lips.  The Soft Bulletin and Yoshimi Battles The Pink Robots are my two favorites and MUCh more accessible.  I also reallynlike At War With The Mystics.  Some of their other stuff is just way too weird for me.

I do LOVE their Dark Side of the Moon album.
