I'd call it a black comedy. I liked the film, but it  made me feel dirty.

I loved In Bruges, one of the best movies I saw this year! That & KUNG FU PANDA!!!  ;)
God will forgive them. He'll forgive them and allow them into Heaven.....I can't live with that.

Ruckus

In Bruges was solid.

KUNG FU PANDA was awesome.  Visually stimulating

Also saw Inside Man (again) - One of my favorite Spike Lee joints (can't get enough heist movies)

The Kite Runner - Unfortunately I did not read the book but thought the movie was beautiful even if it had some Dreamworks overdramatization

Miller's Crossing. Probably in my top twenty favorite films.

And BringdaRuckus, does it bother you that most of Inside Man actually has nothing to with the plot, which actually only takes up about fifteen minutes of the film? That really pissed me off. But then again, I'm not a Spike Lee fan.

I'm not sure what you are saying.  The movie has somewhat awkward pacing and excessive misdirection yet I really enjoyed the style in which it was presented from the general shades in color of the film to the herky jerky nature of it.  That said, I just enjoy a good bank heist film.

Ironically, I used to love Miller's Crossing when all my favorite movies were mob movies and the I felt that the Coen brothers could do no wrong.  The latter is still somewhat true but I definitely can't watch Miller's Crossing over and over again.  Still a great film

SPOILERS FOR ANYONE WHO HASN'T SEEN INSIDE MAN:

What I mean is that the bank robbery was really a red herring, since Clive Owen's character was only after the ring. So we spend the whole movie with the robbery which really isn't very important to the plot, with the real story rushed at the end. It just kind of made me feel like a sucker (and I know it was supposed to as all twist endings are but for some reason, I just didn't like the feeling this time.) Too much information too fast and too little information for the two hours before it. Also, I really don't like twist endings that are impossible to figure out before they actually happen, like the one in the Illusionist. If the director doesn't leave you clues, it isn't nearly as much fun for me.

By the way, since we're on the subject, the worst, lamest twist ending ever by far was in Runaway Jury.  :-?

Miller's Crossing is one of my least favorite Coen brothers movies. I don't get what people see in that movie.
That's motherfuckin' John Oates!

Miller's Crossing is more influential and daring than entertaining (see Barton Fink). I can see why people like it on those levels.

(Barton Fink is great) I don't think its bad either, its still better than The Ladykillers, Intolerable Cruelty, and maybe The Man Who Wasn't There as well. I do need to watch it for a second time though.

For me, this was easily the worst Coen movie...The only good things about it were 1) Gandolfini 2) Scarlett offering BBT some dome

And I like almost every movie Ive seen BBT in

I think Millers Crossing is in their Top half of films fairly easily...Its no Fargo or Lebowski, but its not far behind

Only comedy I liked more than this in 2008 was Role Models

Both were fantastic...RM gets the nod due to more variety and stuff that was funny without the ridiculousness of Step Brothers

Forgetting Sarah Marshall gets an honorable mention 3rd

So you like it, eh?

Like I said, probably my favorite PTAnderson movie, which is saying something considering Magnolia and Boogie Nights (have yet to see TWBBlood).

Id have to watch it again since its been awhile and I only saw it once, but it blew me away when I first saw it. I wasnt expecting much and I thought it was great.

I definitely liked it, can't say its my favorite PTA movie. I think his movies are consistently good, I'll give him that. You need to see There Will Be Blood!
