Looks epic. Must be what the Roll Call hype will be about. Can't go. Kinda bummed. Congrats to those who can make it. Should be a blast.
yeah, the fact that they're gonna play the whole album is pretty amazing. Usually it takes a while for the songs to all dribble out live. This is like day 6 of T5.
Ohmygodohmygodohmygodohmygod
WOW -- damn, I'm pissed I can't make this. Work is stupid!
Someone should let the author know that It Still Moves was recorded at Above the Cadillac: ""Circuital" is the first album the band has recorded in Kentucky since 2001's "At Dawn" was made at MMJ's infamously silo-enhanced studio in Shelbyville."
Wish I could make it for this. Wife would flip her lid. I'll have to stick with Bonnaroo, Milwaukee, and Chicago
dammit!
really awesome, but i don't like that people can join Roll Call today and still jump on that shit. Like the 10 club, when the shows announced people who haven't joined shouldn't be able to use privliges until the next announcements.
that being said... this seems like it could very well be okonokos part 2
They are playing the entire new album !? I missed that part ... so cool!!! I'll be going to Bethal,NY for 3 nights of Phish that weekend so I'm gonna have to wait for some northeast shows.
I'm going to have to consult with my concert-going companion, but this might just work. Would definitely be cool to get out to Louisville again.... but the $$ spent on this could easily translate into 2 or 3 East coast shows later this year...
So is this the Roll-Call announcement? If it is I am confused; I didn't get an email from Roll-Call...and I thought the announcement was going to be at 6:00 PM tonight...a bit confusing. :-\ ???
Hmmm...I received the email from the band's site, but the "special invitation" link just goes to .../gogo. Anyone have the details? Nothing from Roll Call yet...
I just realized that I'm going to have to miss wakarusa for this because I'm signed up to volunteer pre fest

I was kind of wondering this myself? It may be that since the announcement leaked else where they just sent the email early.
Yehhhh!!! This year keeps getting better and better :D
Hot dam! Dreams do come true.

Fuck, Im there. Its an 8 Hour drive but I just found out it may be the last possibility I have this year of realistically taking a few days off before mid June. Im am spending the rest of the day figuring out how I am going to make this happen.
The hometown show is on a Tuesday. Well, that's just awesome. ???
record release day, couldnt do it any other way.
i hope we get the digi dl for the record really early on in the day so I can listen to it a few times before the show.

other than being a great city to live in, we do not get a whole lot of perks as louisville residents. we have the derby and special access to jacket stuff like tuesday night shows. be happy for us.

OK, Here is me working it.
Lets say that this little video message is Roll Call's way of giving cryptic information of upcoming events similar to the 'tweets' that the 10 Club use to give their information about upcoming events.
So, the map of Australia is the 'information' that is mentioned in the "there's so much information - got it?" line, cause there is a strange little pause that kind of implies there is something else to the story! This can only mean one thing - My Morning Jacket are touring Australia!!! Its all very exciting!
OK, working it is now over!
So, anyway enjoy your show Louisville people, it will be a great time....
That's all I got!
Is it Noon yet!??

They are ORCH 2.
Wow, I just realized that these are end of row seats! My bladder thanks you, Row Call!!!
so the presale code "wasn't recognized" until 12:05 then it was finally accepted...did this happen to anyone else?
I LOVE how ticketmaster operates. No Pit seats available and they stick fan club members on the far right side of the theater and even though I got on the second they went on sale I was in row K. Who the fuck do these bastards save the pit and the entire middle section of the orchestra level for??? This is just classic ticketmaster. I swear you'll get better seats just going on the day they sell them to the general public. If you want really good seats though you'll have to get them scalped for over 100 a ticket. I HATE YOU TICKETMASTER..... MASTER OF OUR TICKETS, YOU SUCK!!!
I agree that I dislike very much that the pit and center seats seem to be held apparently for the kings of the world, but compared to other presales in venues like this (Chicago comes to mind), at least orchestra tickets are available at all!
Edit: I may be wrong, since it looks like some of you got seats in the center.
THANK YOU, Roll Call!
orch 3 row t. good enough, i guess, but i sure was hoping for something closer. :'(
gonna try for something better tomorrow, and then again on friday.
my code wasn't recognized at first, i tried again using a capital B instead of lower case b, it worked then.
ORCHESTRA 3
ROW A
SEATS 1-2 !!!!!!
Orch 2, row B. Thank you MMJ and Roll Call!!
I'm coming down from DC and have never been to Louisville.
Ticketbastard sucks. We can all agree on that. I got orch 1 row D seats 1-2. I'm happy to get good seats compared to what I would have got on friday. ;D And what's up with 13 dollar charges. Damn >:(

Louisville, here I come... IT's BEEN TOO LONG!!!
:dankk2:
Orchestra 3 ROW B 5-6. Holy shit. :D The Roll Call is already paying off. I saw the final show of the Wilco A Ghost is Born tour at the Palace when MMJ played Don't Fear the Reaper with them (6/30/05), and the MMJ headlining show on Thanksgiving Eve (11/23/05) and my seats were nowhere near this close for either one. We're gonna rock this fucker!
And yeah, seeing MMJ has gone from being the price of a bar show to being the price of a Rush show. Worth the money though.
I to was at that wilco show. Definitely didn't need more cowbell that night.

ahhhh ticketmaster won't let me submit my order
I got in a little late on the action.
Orchestra 2, Row DD, seats 13-14.
Still effing psyched! 8)
this pre-sale went really smooth. i was able to throw tix back and search again. this turned out to be a dumb decision on my part, the best seats i pulled up were the first.
BUT i kept casting around and finally bought a single.
i think the 2 tix per person limit helped keep the sale open longer.
 cheers, roll call!

Just log on to TicketBastard and see if it lets you add tickets to cart.
I haven't joined roll call yet (for financial reasons) and the tickets are a gift. I can't justify the $30 right now if I am not going to be able to get in on this sale. :(

well, i might not make it either. i'm going to sasquatch. the show goes til midnight on monday before the show. we'll see if i can make it from remote east Washington to Louisville. [/MacGuyver]
Curious if anyone rejected the first seats offered and then were offered a better pair of tickets? I got Row H in Orchestra 4 even though I was refreshing the screen every 2 seconds and was in on this immediately at the opening.
The last time they played the Palace my presale offer was so far back that I rejected them and the next offer was much better seats. This time I did not attempt to get another offer from Ticketmonster. I am very curious if anybody rejected the first offer and ended up getting better tickets?

I had CRAZY problems with ticketmaster but I think it was because I was at Panera using their wifi.... My lady got Orch 3 Row B for us and I got orch 2 row FF for my sister and bro in law. I am in Orch 2 Row FF as well. Me +1 friend coming in from Nashville. Can't wait
Does anybody know if i'll be able to buy tickets at the local ticket office or is ticket master the only place i can get em?
I'd say since its at the palace it'll be ticket master only. I've bought tickets from Ky Center For the Arts (palace, brown, KCT) and they use a different ticketing service.
I pulled orch 3 row h. not too bad. I think when it's all said and done we will all be happy we are in the building. There will be lots that miss out all together. I have a buddy gettin in the amex presale tomorrow I am curious to see what he gets.
Did anyone think that maybe the pit may actually have an orchestra in it or maybe somekind of horns?
Email me my golden ticket please I would like to burn it on May 31st. ;)
Orchestra 3, row A, seats 5 and 6. Could not be any happier.
I just heard on the radio that tickets go on sale tomorrow, im so confused...

So, like whomever it was that posted earlier, I haven't joined Roll Call yet because I can't afford it, so I'm gonna have to wait until the weekend to get tickets. My question for those of you members who've purchased tickets is how much? I haven't seen the price listed anywhere and I guess ticketbastard doesn't even show the cost.

There are two Amex options: The first you just need to use an Amex card at checkout. The second is a preffered seating Amex. You need to have one of the upgraded cards that is listed there under the ?. Then you use the 800# on the back of the card as a password. Purchase is through TM, the same page as Roll Call.
So far I haven't come up with anything better than orchestra double letters for pairs.
Just heard that my friend got pit with his Amex. Very happy for him but not happy the roll call members didn't get these.

hmmmmmm i got a threw out probably 5 sets of tickets and none of them sniffed the pit.
Sure there are probably a few pit seats available, but let's be real here, most of those are probably gonna be reserved for family and friends. I really didnt think it was a big deal for Roll Call not to offer these....

This isn't my first go around with fan club tickets and ticketmaster. The fact is tickmaster just does some shady stuff. It's not the bands fault. After everything was said and done I thought we got some really nice tickets. I think it's strange that I got on the second they went on sale and got 12 rows back on the far right side of the theater. I had to be at the very least in the top 50 people in, had my password copy and pasted, nailed the funky letters on the first try, was already logged into ticketmaster. People started posting later that they were getting the middle of the orchestra inside the first 10 rows. It just doesn't make sense.
Just FYI, 3 pairs of tix, Row C, $4480 per pair, on eBay, from a tix agency. How does this happen?

Actually most friends and family of the band either sit backstage or at the back of the theater. Comp tickets at the Palace are never very good. There are, however, season ticket holders and radio stations and whatnot that do take up a lot of those choice seats.
I'm waiting for Friday. Don't know what to make of this whole Roll Call deal yet and seeing the tickets you all ended up with, I'm not kicking myself... yet...
EDIT: To Johnny: probably season ticket holders trying to cash in
I feel very fortunate to have pulled the seats that I did, but the forum Roll Call reports had seats all over the place. Who knows what everyone pulled that doesn't post here. Logic would favor best available seats going first, but logic doesn't always apply. Otherwise, it's more of a lottery.
I, too, was one of the people hitting refresh every few seconds from 11:55 on with my code ready to copy and paste and nimbly hurdling the captcha code.

I wouldn't be surprised if ticketmaster has under the table deals with some of these ticket agencies. They always seem to some how end up with way more awesome than they should have and selling them at crazy prices.
Sorry guys he was fuckin wit me he actually got row z. Ass hole had me pissed.
I ordered mine this morning using the Amex option and the password. Got four seats together Orch 4 Row L. I'm pretty happy with that.
If anyone has an Amex and needs the password send me a message and I'll hook you up.
just bought four more with my amex.....2 for a buddy and his wife, the other 2 will be a wedding present for my niece. (hope she doesn't check this board!)
they gave me orch 1, row mm, i tried a few more times and got orch 1, row nn....1 row back. tried one last time and got orch 1, row jj...4 rows closer.
it does seem to be a crapshoot. in the end though, as rusty said, i think we're all going to be happy just to be in the building for this event.

What password? I'm able to purchase without one, just have to use my Amex card at checkout.
There's two options to order with your amex. The first doesn't require a password. The second one right below it does. I did ticket searches trying both ways. The one without the password would always give orchestra seats, but double letter rows. When searching with the password option I got much better seats in single letter rows.

That is why it is called American Express PREFERRED seating.
Got tix prob three mins after noon on tues cause I was using the pit selection and no tix were available. Got stuck with dd orch 2 pretty bummed. Didn't know it was a crapshoot. Kinda wish I wouldn't of sunk all my money into this hoping the bonnaroo show isn't epic. Someone change my mind.

Gotcha. I should have been clearer in my post. I knew about the 2nd option but thought that the 800# on the back of the card was all you needed. Was there another password that could be used?
ORCH 3 N 11-12
So my question is- who is going to try and learn the whole album so they can sing along, or will you hear it live for the first time instead?

I wouldn't trade this show for any other this year. Are you saying you have to miss bonnaroo to go to this. If thats the case Bonnaroo will come again. Record release show in the hometown may not. If you need some convincing that you made the right choice, check ebay and craigslist throughout the next week. I think you'll be happy you got those tix, btw who don't like double d's? ;)
So are people thinking that the boys will play the entire album?

My Morning Jacket playing Louisville Palace on CD release dateCourier-Journal.com 12:01 AM, Apr. 25, 2011
When My Morning Jacket recently announced a handful of performances and the list included Lexington but not Louisville, there was some mild grumbling among hometown fans. As usual, there was no point in second-guessing one of rock's most mercurial bands.
Today, MMJ will announce a May 31 show at the Louisville Palace. That's the same day its highly anticipated new album, "Circuital," is being released, and the album's themes of connectivity and unbroken circuits of energy play right into a hometown show.
Tickets will go on sale Friday at noon for $49.50, $1 of which will go to the Center for Women and Families.
"Circuital" is the first album the band has recorded in Kentucky since 2001's "At Dawn" was made at MMJ's infamously silo-enhanced studio in Shelbyville. This time, they convened at Christ Evangelical Church in the Original Highlands and recorded in the gymnasium, resulting in a vibe that recalled the band's formative years.
Jim James and his co-conspirators — Patrick Hallahan, Tom Blankenship, Bo Koster and Carl Broemel — are wildly enthusiastic about "Circuital" and wanted to share the love with Louisville on May 31.
"We wanted to make it a special-occasion type of deal in a more focused place like the Palace, as opposed to the Great Lawn or something like that," James said. "It should be a pretty big affair, a full-on production."
Specific details about the show are still in the works and won't be announced for a couple of weeks, but band manager Mike Martinovich promises they'll be substantial. James is apparently cooking up a story arc, and in videos being released today on the band's website and through various social media outlets, he'll be encouraging crowd participation.
"We will play every song off the new album, so you could say it will be performed in its entirety," James said, "although I'm not sure if we will do it front to back nonstop."

Id be lying if I said that didn't cheer me up. I just wanted to be as close as possible festival style. Thinking about lollapalooza since they are on opposite ends of the summer. I did catch the MoF show there on Halloween and it was incredible. I will also be flying solo (literally flying) just like the MoF show so I want to be sure to get down on this pre show meet up. I'll be staying at The Galt on 4th. Thanks Rusty! Cheers for the dd's thing. That was good

Np Ml, but this is all you really need to hear (thx jy), I have a feeling you'll forget about Bonnaroo before May 31st even gets here.
Man this gets me pumped every time I read, and yes, I have read it multiple times.
So any reports of pit tickets?
I'm starting to wonder if the pit will be for HD movie cameras for the new movie "Circuital" ;)
Hey everyone, new to posting but I have been reading the boards for a while. Decided after the Lexington show that I had to join Roll Call and scored decent tickets to Louisville, despite having to make the transaction in the middle of my Kindergarten Art class. (I teach elementary art) Anyways, my question is about any predictions about the pre-show scene. Any chance of tailgating?
I'm not entirely sure why but i'm predicting a SICK dondante for this show... :bath:
any word on pre show? i sat alone at the microbrewery across the street at monsters of folk and would enjoy company this go round
Keep in touch with the Louisville roll call thread, I'm sure something will develop.

I was there too and there were a lot of forum members hanging out there before the MoF show. Someone even brought dessert.
What is this microbrewery you are speaking of? This will be my first stay in L'ville (staying at the Brown).
I'm hoping to arrive at our hotel between 6 and 7. It's over a 4 hour drive from my home and my wife has to work until around 2:30 or so.
We'd be up for a meet and greet if we can get there in time. 8)

the theater square location is right across the street from the palace.
If anyone hears of any tickets floating around for this show, please let me know.
We'll be staying at the Hyatt and hope to connect with other MMJ friends to chill and have fun with leading up to the big show!!!! So excited! Will have acoustic in tow and looking to get some sing alongs and jams going. Anybody out there looking to hang? We'll have COOKIES!!!!!!!!!!!!
COOKIES!!!! Well, I think the party should just come to you!

All my roll call tix have been will call only. Anyone have any other options? Maybe they did it that way to reduce scalpers abilities to Resell them too. Very cool.
So let me get this straight, DejaView2011. This Louisville Palace show, the Circuital Release Extravaganza, will be your FIRST LIVE MY MORNING JACKET experience?

Yes my first of 4 (so far) this summer. As for the smile I'm already bearing it and have started losing sleep. I'm so friggin excited its rediculous. I'm considering having the big green CIRCUITAL eye painted on my orange Challenger before hitting the road as this is her very first rock n roll road trip. I'm almost as excited to meet other jacket fans to party with as I am to finally see them live. Almost. :-)))

I really can't wait to meet y'all in Louisville. This whole journey to "CIRCUITAL " has been a landmark year in my life with the Louisville show as the reward for 5 years of change, growth and truly hard work. I feel I really evolved as a person so much this year alone. These jacket shows are my reward to myself and serve to kickoff a new phase in my whole life. Ill never forget this and am so glad karma led me here now. I feel so grateful.

We're going to Louisville from Virginia, so I believe we pass thru that area. I think we're leaving a day early though to try to get in on what's goin on. Maybe they need extras or help or even just to hang with local fans and see the city. When did you want to head out?
This Kentucky guy needs a single ticket for this monster show at the Palace. Ive never been luck enough to see MMJ at the Palace even though the Palace Theater is absolutely my favorite indoor theater. To see MMJ there would be epic!
I can help but think this is going to be a magical show. Im my mind nothing compares to a MMJ show in the right special environment.
any help is GREATLY appreciated.

I wonder, is this the single most hyped show in MMJ history? I love all the campaigning videos for this show and the new album. The fellas deserve it, and so awesome to keep giving back to their hometown like they do. :dankk2:
Anybody else going in as a CIRCUITAL virgin?
Well besides Circuital and Black Metal?

I have YouTube on my bluray, also. I'm fearing it won't work for streaming content. Let me know if you figure it out; I'll do the same. I've got the LG BD390.
I'm going to attempt an audio recording of the stream, maybe a video capture, but I'm most interested in just enjoying the show, so I won't be stressing out if something fucks up.

I've been wondering this too Plum.Anyone have any thoughts or suggestions based upon past MMJ shows! We're considering doing the Victorian or civil war eras. Something with fun hats. I also considered wearing white suits with big paper lantern painted green with black pupils. Like big CIRCUITAL eye heads.

prolly just a collared shirt rather than some outlandish neon spray painted affair I wore to the YUM show...
Is it too n00bish or faux pas to wear a Roll Call shirt to this event?? I really want to break it out, but maybe this is the wrong setting....
What if I dressed it up with a tie? bow tie? sigh.
I was just planning on one of my old band t-shirts. Maybe Pavement or Guided By Voices or a Dead shirt?
Seeing as how it's going to be in the mid 90's on Tuesday, I was thinking shorts were a must for me as well.
Personally, I really don't think what we wear is going to hinder what we will experience on stage on this night! :D
Our journey to Louisville begins in a few hours! The car is packed and we're ready to go!   Gonna post a pic of the beginning of the drive. See you all there. Remember to say Hi! We have COOKIES!
Dress shirt, slacks and a tie for me. If mmj gives me a reason to dress "fancy" then I'm doing it. I'm going with green to go with the circuital theme. Yeah I'm a dork, so what.

its still going to be 93 and the palace is usually a little warm to begin with.

Leaving Nashville area around 12:00, where is everyone hanging before the show? It is a MUST that I meet some of you fine folks. I'm dressing fancy.....look for me...I'm a rotund (haha) man of about 240 pounds and I'll be hard to miss in white slacks, white collar shirt, red suspenders and red tie, with a black fancy hat to boot.
Who else is dressing "fancy"? Hey APR...we have to talk some Hum.
I hope everyone has their Backpacks!
WE ARE UNDER 12 HOURS PEOPLE. IT IS TIME TO GET READY. THE COUNTDOWN HAS BEGUN.
GOOT LORT I AM READY FOR THIS, I CANT BELIEVE I AM AT WORK RIGHT NOW. SOMEONE PLEASE CALL ME IN SICK.
I had a ticket promised to me and the guy just called and said his buddy is taking it, so I had plans to go, but not now. Anybody have an extra ticket, please help me out.
I'm petty sure murder is justified in that situation.

are u guys dressing "fancy" - it's so hot and i know it will hot in the palace so dunno what to do!!!
i'm still at work as well, planning on ducking out around 3, taking care of some things then getting my ass into some fancy attire for the evening and heading down there round 5... BBC on 4th is likely. the beard has recently been called "colossal" so you'll find me with that and a vest and tie with a potentially dapper hat.

i am actually changing my fancy dress to account for the heat. i had a whole shebang planned out, now i am exchanging that for something that i can incoporate shorts into instead of a whole fancy outfit.
i will still however be fancy , just fancy with shorts and flops on.
the best part is the new fancy dress actually matches what my wife is wearing. welcome to prom 2011!!!!!

Gawd what a show! Plenty of people (including the band, I think) have commented that the new material was almost meant to be consumed in a live setting...boy were they right.
I hope they can keep that energy level up all summer. I got tired just watching the streaming event!

rest of the show!? :o
I was on my front porch sweating through the entire thing and when Jim said: "it's pretty hot huh?", we all just nodded in headphone unison.
Was there a print for the show?
Just can't believe they played the entire new CD. Each song was played perfectly too that was new. Holdin' on to Black Metal then Highly Suspicious was epic. I am sure not as many people loved it like I did but I really loved the raw clarity of Movin' Away. Jim nailed it. What a damn good show. Tyrone was awesome.

Even the Wall Street Journal sent a reviewer down from big ol' New York City to little bitty Louisville to see the show: http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052702303657404576358661158579374.html?mod=googlenews_wsj (http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052702303657404576358661158579374.html?mod=googlenews_wsj)
Concerning the heat inside the Palace last night, and it was dripping hot in there, I would think the band felt the crowd was reliving the early recording sessions for Circuital with them based on their comments of how hot is was that gym when they were all setup around each other. The new tunes all came across great, Slow Slow Tune will be an absolute burner live by mid Summer and Off the Record and Steam Engine were epic.
My Morning Jacket - Steam Engine Unstaged (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GdxyG_9gC0U#ws)
this poster is responsible for HOTBM vid also, hopefully this is a sign that the whole thing is coming.
Notice the dancing hobo clip in HOTBM surely thats staged film footage? Good sign of a dvd coming maybe.
First Light, Freak Out, and HOTMB are ripe for expansion. I hope that is a prophecy. Oh, and Slow Slow Tune.
My only issue aside from the streaming for the first 1/3 of the show as that HOTBM is in need of something else. I can't put my finger on it. But whatever is missing, once added, will make it explode.

At the show last night the only thing I could think of that it was missing was a Hot Sweaty Mosh Pit.
How did they end up using everyone's eye pictures. I don't remember seeing any eye pics.
they were on the end monitors below the big eye flashin real fast no way I could pic out mine. I did notice lots were used multiple times so I'd say everyone's were used at least once.
It was during Highly Suspicious. The photos went by too fast for me to try to pick mine out.
WHOOOO! It was off the hook. I WAS at Return to Thunderdome, all the Bonnaroo shows, the Prom in Athens, and every where in between, and I concur.....best show ever. Everything lined up perfectly for this event. How about Erykah Badu on Tyrone? JJ was wailing during his solo 3 minutes in, and then she went and blew the roof off that place when she started wailing towards the end. Just amazing. The heat. Was. Killing. I had to strip off my "fancy" accoutrements, and everytime I started to feel like "I can't take anymore" the euphoria hit me and my fists would start pumping and my lungs were singing louder. A good warm-up (so to speak) for Bonnaroo next week though. and whoever said it was reminiscent of the making of the album, I completely agree. I think it's nice to have a/c but when it's hot and sticky like that, the whole crowd seems to get kind of euphoric.
Patrick must have been dying from that heat. He's such a beast. 2nd row seats for this show = pretty fucking special event in my MMJ experiences. Next week is a date with the Main Stage at Bonnaroo...my 20th MMJ show. Pleasure to meet you Kory (and your bad-ass beard!) and wish I could have met some other folks. It's proven to be tough for me to meet people from forums irl. But DejaView and anybody else going to Bonnaroo, I would love to have some kind of forum meetup at the pit. Got to represent.

Those songs had me jonesin' for a jam out so hard though.
im going to preface this with the fact that this is probably the most petty thing i have ever said.
thats the only thing that truly bothered me, i wanted to see a freak out during freak out. at the end when those distorted fuzzy guitars come in... thats all ive thought about since probably my 3rd listen to the album. i wanted to see a little more from the day is coming and freak out. those two songs have the potential to become monsters.
god, the slow songs are fucking incredible live.
there will never again be a performance of holdin on to black metal like we witnessed last night.

it's something that will take time. a jam has to come from within, when they have an open-ended set time and the freedom to just let loose. while I complain they didn't jam out, I also don't expect it yet. Those songs are blueprints for something more to evolve from.
I was thinking maybe there were still sample vocals on Black Metal. I don't think those girls were singing all of that. I don't care, just wondering.
oh no, they were definitely singing. they brought the house down.

After seeing more great close up footage, I have officially been completely blown away by the pure awesomeness of Two Tone Tom. WOW. :o
Also, I think Carl's solo touring has really pollished his pipes. He sounded better than ever. Plus, more Carl Sax = Good. Real good. That man can do no wrong. His guitar sounds were superb. The feel he puts in to the steel. Wonderful.

He really stuck out to me the last time I saw them (Chastain Park, ATL). I also noticed him a lot while watching the webcast. I love the position he assumes on some songs ( most noticeably, OBH) . He crouches down a little with one leg out in front, almost like he's bracing himself in case shit gets

I loved being able to see everyone so up close and personal. I miss a lot of these things during the live show, due to head thrashing and the general dissociative fugue state i find myself in.
Always enjoy seeing Tommy smile , and enjoyed all the close ups of Carl, Bo and Patrick too! I really find myself concentrating a lot more on Carl these days, and I feel he has stepped up his game big time.

Hey folks. Nope. Haven't been in jail (praise jeebus) and made that long assed. Drive back yesterday. But this turned into one rock n roll road trip from hell, as my buddy was more interested in my car and exploring Louisville rather than resting up for the show. The temperature in The Palace killed him and his discomfort, hurting feet and complete lack of enthusiasm blew the whole experience for me. Not to mention getting home to find the contractors got NOTHING done in my absence. I don't even want to try and calculate the money wasted on this EPIC FAIL for my first MMJ concert. Next time I'm leaving the kiddies at home. I've got 2nd row for Chicago and pit for GA. & NC. Ill NEVER allow this to happen again. I can't even listen to CIRCUITAL without getting angry at this moment. I missed virtually everything. But payed for it all dearly. I haven't even seen the poster. Sorry about my absence. Open wounds and all that shit...

Ughhh I'm so sorry about that and feel your pain. For the YUM! show I took a dear friend who was such a trooper until the show started. We were on the rail and she just couldn't hang... three songs in she bailed due to "noise" ::) No matter how much we want it some non-followers just can't be converted. Sometimes you pay for being too nice but if you were willing to sacrafice that night for the well being of a friend, then I salute you. Better times commin'
Awww dude! :'( Sorry to hear that, Deja. Fret not, good sir! I'm positive your brothers & sisters in Jackethood will come through for you at the next show. It can only get better, I assure you
P.S. did you at least get to witness that insane Tyrone? I truly hope so

Nope. We left halfway through Wonderful. I forgot that part.
wow. that's heartbreaking :'( Is your friend still alive? I'd have trouble not killing him to death should I ever be put in that situation. You're a trooper for sure. Not sure I could have put up with that. You're a better man than I
no way you left half way through Wonderful over heat and achy feet. gotta be more to the story? if you don't want to share i understand but this is getting very interesting. please tell me you just did some shrooms or acid, couldn't handle it, and had to hightail it outta there. Damn, that would make more sense. ;D

Should we be concerned? No posting from DejaView2011 for over 24 hours.
Did he make it through his first gig, or was the meltage too severe?
I like to think of him driving around the backstreets of L'ville in a post-Jacket haze, the strains of HOTBM blasting from the windows of the Circuitalmobile...
??? 8)
Hey folks. Open wounds and all that shit...
been there for sure dude. at least you've got a great spot for your next 3 and you'll be surrounded by other people who are into it. the one thing I've learned about MMJ's crowd is that the more hype you are the more hype they are and the more hype the band is. can't imagine being with somebody who wasn't into it. I'd probably punch them in the stomach if it happened to me. tear it up next time twice as hard to make up for this one.
Wow Deja...
That sucks goat nuts. I let nothing get in my way of having a fucking good time at a Jacket show. Sorry to hear it bro. There will be tons of great shows ahead of you though. That show was stellar. Don't see how someone couldn't love every minute of it. It was hot as fuck though.

Dude, what????????? Well, it can only get better from here!!!
should have told your friend to use his seat the palace provided him or to go wait in the lobby or your car...

Yep.... u can definitely relate. I'm moving by it and adding red rocks to make up for it. Time to start smiling again. Everytime I listen to "Wonderful" I remember why this band moves me so deeply. After having just relocated from south Florida to Virginia, that songsays it all for me.

NNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!111!1!
At least you've got the forthcoming dates to look forward to.
your friend sounds very selfish. surely he knew how much this event meant to you. nothing short of a death in my family could have removed me from my seat that night.
you are handling it better than i would.

Amen! Even if it was my wife that was acting that way, I'd show her the where the exits are cause I am not leaving (Ok, really I would buy her a water to cool her down and rub her feet so that I could stay and listen to the magic). These things happen though.
I am still trying to digest the rock show. Here are some of the highlights that stuck out to me as I reminisce:
Main Positives
1) Holdin on to Black Metal then Highly Suspicious was an incredible back to back.
2) Tyrone. Never seen that performed and it was pretty badass.
3) Loved the version of Smokin from Shootin. Very cool Patrick drumming through out the song.
4) Slow Slow Tune then Movin Away was a very incredible slow jam back to back.
5) Though I have seen it several times, Dancefloors was absolutely awesome.
6) Played every single song off their new cd.
Main Negatives
1) It was hot as hell. I didnt mind myself being overwhelmed with the heat but it seemed to drain the crowds energy quite a bit. Usually their show is a huge party of sorts with dancing and the such.
2) I was sitting way in the back of the balcony because ticketbastard messed up with the whole Citi card bullcrap. The crowd up there was not very lively.
3) My favorite song, Dondante, was not played as well as I would have like it to being in the Palace. I am never disappointed hearing it but I felt they have played it much better in the past (municiple auditorium sticks out as the best I have seen of that song).
4) They only played one song from At Dawn and none from Tennessee Fire. Would have killed for Strangulation.
5) Erykah Badu was awesome and all. But didn't care for them doing one of her songs. It was cool I guess but I want all Jacket songs. That's what I paid for afterall.
There may seem like a lot of negatives up there, but they pail in comparison to the laundry list of awesomeness that unfolded on that stage. Loving the new album and loving the tour ahead.
Someone please tell me what rachel dratch did at the show!!! Noone has talked about her attall :-\

She was in the skit before the encore. I was wondering if they showed this live?
yes they did. right when they went off stage this came up on the eye. im assuming just like yall saw it.
one question i have is, after the video, were yall just staring at the stage waiting for them to come out like we were? it seemed like a good 10 minutes, that mustve been hell watching at home.

Look at the left side of the page and under "Play/Download" click VBR ZIP. Youll need a program like WinRAR (it's free) to unzip the file, but that will give you a quick download of the full show
P.S. This recording kicks some major ace. Thank you Brian Porter......wherever you are (/looks to the heavens/)

Brian still lives here, a badass taper and and a better man! Way to go Brian, tape sounds awesome!
Damn, Bo sounds tight on these recordings. He's bouncing all over stylistically (in a good way) and on some tracks gets a Page-ish boogie, while others he sounds like the fingers of angels going down my spine

can't let this one go by. you're paying for a jacket show. what they do on stage is up to them. that is one of the rad things about seeing their shows: you never know what might happen up there.
also, hearing one song out of 28 that you didn't dig. pretty fair ratio.

LoL. Im not being obnoxious about it and thought it was pretty cool. Just saying, I could think of any mmj song I would rather hear instead. Her music just isn't my preference. Still was an absolute excellent show. I'll take what they give me any time. Just being selfish I suppose.
fair enough. ;) your phrasing just happened to strike a nerve there.

And your right, the phrasing does sound pretentious like my paying for admission gives me the right to judge what is acceptable or not to play. But they more then gave me my money's worth so all-in-all I have nothing in reality to complain about. Didn't mean to strike a nerve.

I don't know, maybe halesdd has a point. I know I was pretty disappointed hearing MMJ waste all that time playing "A Quick One" in New York last year. ::)
(sorry to pile on, I couldn't help it)

Watching the re-broadcast on YouTube (again) and I keep forgetting to ask this: Who is the sixth guy on the stage? He's stage left of Patrick playing percussion.

Kevin Ratterman - drummer for Wax Fang
and that's stage right
Shit you're right. I was thinking "if you're looking at the stage, left"
I thought maybe that was Ratterman, but I could never see his face.
